Name is important
I notice something about these new smartphones that have been coming out lately. The name doesn’t stick. For example: iPhone vs. HTC Desire HD, which one would you remember at the end of the day?

Truth! The name matters (brand recognition). The shorter, the better, and the more consistent (ipod, iphone, ipad, etc), the better too.

Apple has ownership “iDevice” title, so even if companies adopted another letter, iPhone, iPad, iMac will always stick more. Monopoly?

Well, iPhone has established a unique name for itself, while the others get lost in the sea of names. Like I don’t know how good Desire is.
