Name is important

I notice something about these new smartphones that have been coming out lately. The name doesn’t stick. For example: iPhone vs. HTC Desire HD, which one would you remember at the end of the day?

  3. mollyawatson answered: Truth! The name matters (brand recognition). The shorter, the better, and the more consistent (ipod, iphone, ipad, etc), the better too.
  4. cmykcommodoll answered: Apple has ownership “iDevice” title, so even if companies adopted another letter, iPhone, iPad, iMac will always stick more. Monopoly?
  5. bduff answered: Well, iPhone has established a unique name for itself, while the others get lost in the sea of names. Like I don’t know how good Desire is.
