Guest Art at Penny Arcade - explained

After Mike (Gabe) caught the flu last week, he asked me if I could do a guest art for him while he recovers. Of course I love Penny Arcade so my answer was “yes”.

Now a lot of people are telling me they don’t understand the comic. I guess I could have drawn Tycho and Gabe like everyone else that submitted a guest comic, but I didn’t. I decided to do a comic about the latest game I was playing, which is Batman: Arkham Asylum. I love the game; I believe it’s the best Batman game up to date. Jess also has been playing the game. When I asked her what she thought about the game, the first thing she pointed out was that Batman is freakin huge in the game and he was crawling/crouching through air-vents. So that’s where the comic came from.

Yeah, I could have done a better job on the coloring, better contrast, and made it obvious it was batman’s butt stuck in the vent. I showed it to Tycho and Gabe and they both liked it. At the end, that what matters. I helped a good friend out.
